sacred provides immediate financial assistance to families in need due to and caused by the sexual abuse of a child or children. sacred was founded in 2009 by John and Carol D'Attoma after experiencing, firsthand, the emotional and financial trauma experienced by their daughter when their granddaughters were sexually abused by their father.

With the support of family, friends, and business associated, their daughter received much needed financial assistance. John and Carol, realizing many families in similar situations as their daughter, may not have the resources and support she had, founded 'sacred' to provide that support.

Since 2009, sacred has provided financial assistance to hundreds of families and thousands of children. The organization recently reached an incredible milestone of providing more than $1,004,781 in financial assistance.  The average grant per family in 2023 was $3,384, providing 30 days of daily living expenses and a path for developing longer-term support systems.
